Christmas & Winter

THE SONGS My Christmas entertainment is a lively and festive mixture of Christmas music, interactive kids’ songs, and additional tunes geared to families. Although the theme is “Christmas,” I am also happy to include songs about other holidays celebrated at this time of year – Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, for example.

SLEIGH BELLS I have a collection of hand-held sleigh bell instruments that I pass out for the kids to play. They add lots of holiday jingle to the already-jolly atmosphere.

THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS This is an irresistible crowd-pleaser for kids and adults alike! There are all kinds of ways to sing and enjoy this song depending on the number of participants. I also have visuals that I hand out to go along with each of the 12 days which adds to the fun of the song.

FUN & GAMES At private parties for children ages 5 and under, the sugar plum fairy’s magic wand game always produces gobs of giggles. For older kids my treasure trove of silly tongue-twisters makes for brain-teasing, chatter-filled fun.

STORIES (For kids 5 and under) After singing Laurie Berkner’s song about a girl “who lives on Candy Cane Lane and rides a horse with a candy-cane mane,” I follow up with a very sweet story about candy canes. Older kids love hearing the traditional poem “The Night Before Christmas.”

CHRISTMAS SING-ALONGS I can provide full-blown sing-along events complete with lyric sheets for any age group. This can include carols as well as secular Christmas songs.

AGES 1 – 5

I’ve woven together a bunch of playful finger plays, hand plays, and interactive songs to create an entertaining program about our coldest season of the year. The themes throughout this winter songfest consist of snowmen, skating, sledding, drinking hot chocolate by the fire, making hot soup on a cold winter day, and an added bonus of a song about whichever winter holiday we happen to be closest to, i.e., New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Ground Hog Day, Presidents’ Day or Valentine’s Day).
